Alexandra Munguia and others with Rhino Staging & Events Solutions, position the life-size model of the Psyche probe as they get ready to raise it Tuesday, July 19, 2022, in the lobby of ISTB4. The spacecraft will be permanently suspended from the second-floor ceiling above the lobby. It is made of a 8x8x10-foot box probe and two 35-foot aluminum frames representing the large solar panels. The craft’s 78-foot length is similar to a tennis court. A dozen ASU students helped build an interactive demonstration version of the probe designed to explore a metallic asteroid. Some of the systems they highlight are Communications, Spacecraft, Navigation, Videos and a rotatable 3-D model of the actual craft. Photo by Charlie Leight/ASU News
