Fourth-year electrical systems engineering student Danial Haddad shows off the comfort superhero cape's emotional signals to AmandaHope.org's founder Lorraine Tallman at the Innovation Showcase, which includes examples of robotic adaptive apparel created by engineers and fashion designers, on Friday, December 1, 2023, at the Polytechnic campus Sun Devil Fitness Center. Tallman's daughter Amanda Hope died after living with two types of cancer. More than 20 teams collaborated on the projects creating devices for local children undergoing cancer treatments and receiving outpatient services at the Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels nonprofit, where the devices will be used to give comfort and care in treatment settings.
