Third-year fashion design student Casey Stewart sews elastic in the sleeve of a bubble sweater in the Wearable Technology class on Monday, November 20, 2023. The sweater is made of soft textured fabric selected for its sensory calming. It will also have a device in a sleeve that will create and blow bubbles. The fashion design class, led by associate Professor Galina Mihaleva is collaborating with engineering students to create robotic adaptive apparel devices for local kids undergoing cancer treatments and receiving outpatient services at the Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels nonprofit, where the devices will be used in a therapeutic setting.
