The image is fully released; the model release is on file with Media Relations & Strategic Communications.
Min Jang, an assistant professor of forensic chemistry, is leading the development of a quick, simple and non-invasive method to detect drug use through fingerprints using the newly arrived ambient mass spectrometer, with which he is posing in his laboratory at the West Valley campus on Thursday, March 13, 2025. This machine will be operational by the Fall 2025 semester when he and his students will use it to qualitatively and quantitatively target contraband chemicals in sweat secreted through fingerprints.
