DownloadSUN CITY - Nov. 5, 2018 - ASU Now - CHS Dementia - Health sciences junior Arbella Yousif spends the morning with John O’Donnell observing his gradual decline due to his early onset Parkinson’s Disease and dementia. On Monday, November 5, 2018, he shuffles cards, in part to work on his hand strength, before they play a game Golf at the O’Donnell’s Sun City home in the northwest Valley. John was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 25 years ago and now is showing cognitive decline. Yousif and her classmates in Intro to Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease spend a few hours a week through the semester paired with patients to learn firsthand about palliative care.
