Assistant research technologist Theresa Rosov inspects a tray of RNA samples for any debris or dust that may affect results prior to inserting the tray into the QSDX machine in the ASU Biodesign Covid-19 Testing Lab, or ABCTL, on the ASU Tempe campus Wednesday afternoon December 16th, 2020. The tiny samples sit in the machine for roughly seventy minutes as several cycles run, when an image appears it shows curves that represent amplification of certain genes and an uptick in levels, enough to cross the line indicates a positive response as recorded by the computer and verified by staff.
