JPL project scientist Bob Pappalardo, an ASU doctoral graduate, talks on Friday, September 6, 2024, to the SES100 - intro to space exploration class the the Marston Exploration Theater in ISTB4 on the ASU Tempe campus, about the upcoming NASA mission to explore Jupiter’s icy moon Europa, scheduled to launch on October 10, 2024. One of the nine instruments on board will be the E-THEMIS (Europa Thermal Emission Imaging System), which will map the moon’s temperatures to detect warmer locations where liquid water is near the surface.
