The image is fully released; the model releases for the students are on file with the Center for Cybersecurity & Trusted Foundations, and the adults are on file in Media Relations & Strategic Communications.
Riya Dhuri, 17, talks with one of her mentors, compupter science doctoral student Ananta Soneji, right, and others about her research at the final day of the eight-week Center for Cybersecurity and Trusted Foundation’s summer high school research internship program and the students’ poster presentations on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the Brickyard Courtyard in Tempe. Dhuri, a BASIS Chandler High School senior, examined how young adults aged 18-22 have changed their approach to social media privacy and safety since they were teenagers. She plans to pursue a technical degree, possibly from ASU, and attend a technology-based medical school. By learning about Cybersecurity at a young age, students can positively impact their academic and professional careers. The annual program partners Phoenix-area high schoolers with graduate student mentors from ASU’s CTF and the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence (SCAI) for collaborative research on campus.
