Moderator Char Miller, professor of environmental analysis and history at Pomona College, right, listens to one of the speakers in the panel discussion, “Housing for All: A grand challenge with local, regional and national implications,” Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the City Club Los Angeles, as part of the 10 Across Summit. The California Dream has drawn people to Los Angeles for generations. Accommodating the entirety of this population, however, has become an obvious challenge, driven in part by well-documented income disparity. L.A. has become emblematic of the national homelessness crisis. Increasing the inventory of accessible housing has been a focus of multiple city administrations and even state governments. The session explored solutions relative to market forces, land use, regulations, zoning, funding and other critical factors. Photo by Charlie Leight/ASU News Photo by Charlie Leight/ASU News
