ASU Now - Town Lake Pedestrian Bridge
DownloadTEMPE - Mar. 4, 2017 - ASU Now - Town Lake Pedestrian Bridge - The Tempe Town Lake Pedestrian Bridge will be named by the city in honor of ASU College of Architecture founding Dean James Elmore in March. Dean Elmore asked his students at the college in 1966 to come up with a plan for the dry Salt River bed. Their early original concept for what became the Rio Salado Project was first proposed to the public in 1967, 50 years ago this year. Dean Elmore worked over the ensuing decades to see the project come to life, with the Town beginning to fill in 1997. Photo by Charlie Leight/ASU Now
