Third-year applied computing student David Ortiz-Leon reads his poem, "Ten on Ten," at a workshop for HON 394, Poetry and Medicine, at the Westward Ho’s Concho Room, Tuesday, November 30, 2021. The piece deals with his father's incarceration. CISA lecturer Rosemarie Dombrowski, Phoenix’s inaugural Poet Laureate, created and teaches the course that has students facilitate therapeutic poetry workshops with community partners, including Westward Ho’s low-income residents. The twelve students are divided into four groups, with each leading a workshop. Two of the sessions are in Tucson at UofA’s medical school. Photo by Charlie Leight/ASU News
