Katherine Sizov, of the University of Pennsylvania, was the big winner of the $100,000 from Avnet as well as $10,000 in design services from Roambotics. She pitched her company, Strella Biotechnology which makes biosensing platforms that measure fruit ripeness by measuring ethylene gas production and provides data to packers and distributors to reduce food waste and increase fruit quality.
