Applied conservation scientist Gwen Iacona, left and Margaret Hinrichs, the associate director of Decision Science at the Knowledge Exchange for Resilience and an assistant research professor in the School of Complex Adaptive Systems, present their “Democratizing Environmental Data and Decision Making to Support Sustainable Biodiversity Outcomes” at ASU’s Moonshot Accelerator judged team pitch practice on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, in the Lincoln Conference Room in the Fulton Center. The Democratizing Environmental Data team will codify and scale inclusive processes to support discovery, annotation, deliberation, and harnessing of data to inform equitable decision-making to stem environmental crises. The initial cohort of eight teams of faculty and staff presented their ongoing research in areas ranging from lifelong education programs to local and international sustainability.
