They will apply force to a sample of the fiber-reinforced concrete, identical to the fascia wrapping the Tempe campus’ new ISTB7 building. The concrete façade will provide thermal insulation as well as an artistic appearance. Mobasher is a professor of civil and environmental engineering faculty in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment and is responsible for a broad and interdisciplinary research program dealing with theoretical and experimental mechanics of solids.
