Her mother Jamilita Tillman, in all white, and grandmother, Dorothy Jean Tillman, in white jacket and large hat, join others in acknowledging Tillman II's accomplishments. She is an award-winning tech and arts enthusiast, community activist and, at 18, one of the youngest to earn a doctoral degree. Tillman received her’s in behavioral health. She is named after her grandmother, Dorothy Jean Tillman, an American politician, civil rights activist and former Chicago alderman, who joined an entourage in celebrating the younger Tilman’s accomplishment.
