Family photos cover a living room table in the home of U.S. Army’s Women’s Army Corps MAJ Fannie McClendon, Ret., an original member of the 6 Triple 8, an all-female and all-African American battalion in WWII. They were sent to Europe to sort of warehouses full of mail for African American soldiers. There are five remaining original members, MAJ McClendon is one of them. She is photographed at her Tempe home during a filmed interview for the Introduction to Military Studies class MVS 100 on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, by Col.
