Guest artist Kenny Ramos talks in Clinical Assistant Professor Madeline Sayet’s Contemporary Native Theatre class, about his experiences performing as a queer Native American, Monday, March 20, 2023, at Durham Hall on the Tempe campus. Ramos is part of the Barbona Band of Mission Indians in the Kumeyaay Nation, located in Southern California and northern Mexico. The interdisciplinary class, from both the Department of English and Herberger’s Theatre sections, focuses on using storytelling to inform the audience of the important issues of Native Peoples’ lives.
