GLENDALE - Feb. 1, 2018 - ASU Now - REACT Initiative - West campus seniors Julia Lorence, left, and Katherine David are joined by McKinlie Jones, a freshman at BYU and volunteer with Gathering Humanity, sit in a moving van, on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, filled with furnishings for a new refugee family who will soon move into an apartment. Lorence, a biomedical science and integrative health student, and David, majoring in psychology, are part of the R.E.A.C.T. Initiative that works with refugees by setting them up with furniture, food and other provisions, welcoming them into their new community. Lorence is originally from Germany, and David's parents emigrated from the Middle East. The refugees they help come from all over the globe.
