Associate Professor Srimathy Mohan, center, and others unload bags containing non-perishable food at the pop-up food distribution site at Roosevelt Elementary School in Mesa, Tuesday, February 9, 2021. The project is coordinated by students and faculty from the WP Carey supply-chain department as it won a grant from Google to think of ways to get food to hungry people during the pandemic. The weekly allotment of food was funded by the CARES Act and delivered to food banks. Amazon donated the delivery truck. The Carey group distributed food to 20 families Tuesday, and will deliver another dozen Wednesday evening, with leftover bags going to ASU’s Pitchfork Pantry.
