Image fully released. Model release on file in Media Relations & Strategic Communications.
ASU assistant research professor Loukham Shyamsunder sprays white paint on bone samples as an ASU team partners with Mayo Clinic researchers studying the forensics of bone breakage. The painting, with a white base and black speckles, will allow the 5,000 frame-per-second camera to track fragments of the bone during the test. The study involves placing a human donor femur in a Columbus McKinnon hoist and subjecting it to pressure in a drop-test. The research on these samples is done on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in ISTB 2 on the Tempe campus. Photo by Charlie Leight/ASU News
