Speidel works with the Refugee Connection Phoenix as the Syrian Sweets Exchange. Interns from the Office of Global Social Work at ASU, have been working with Iraqi, Syrian and central African refugees, within three groups to create the markets: Phoenix Syrian Sweets Exchange, Refugee and Immigrants Community for Empowerment and the American Muslim Women's Association of Arizona.
