MESA - July 8, 2019 - ASU Now - DBS Parkinsons - Sharon Rogers holds the hand of her husband, Kimball, as they talk with ASU neuroscience engineering associate Professor Bradley Greger at their Mesa home, Monday, July 8, 2019. Kimball is scheduled to receive a deep brain stimulation implanted in two days at the Barrow Neurological Institute in hopes of lessening the symptoms of his Parkinson's disease. Greger will accompany the medical team during the procedure to gather more data in researching precisely what happens to the neural cells when targeted electrical impulses are applied.
