DownloadTEMPE - Aug. 21, 2017 - ASU Now - Solar Eclipse - The School of Earth and Space Exploration set up a couple of telescopes for people to observe closely the sun as the moon passed between it and the earth, on the Hayden Lawn, Monday, Aug. 21, 2017. Viewed from the Tempe campus, the moon blocked out about 70 percent of the sun at its peak, about 10:33 AM. The School of Earth and Space Exploration supplied many pair of safe-viewing glasses. Some people used homemade devices so witness and recored the stellar event. Photo by Charlie Leight/ASU Now
