DownloadMESA - July 8, 2019 - ASU Now - DBS Parkinsons - Retired commercial real estate developer Kimball Rogers makes a peanut butter and honey sandwich for lunch as his wife Sharon gives him a little kiss as she cleans a glass, at their Mesa home, Monday, July 8, 2019. Kimball is scheduled to receive a deep brain stimulation implanted in two days at the Barrow Neurological Institute in hopes of lessening the symptoms of his Parkinson's disease. ASU neuroscience engineering associate Professor Bradley Greger will accompany the medical team during the procedure to gather more data in researching precisely what happens to the neural cells when targeted electrical impulses are applied.
