ASU Now - Concrete Mobasher
DownloadTEMPE - October 16, 2019 - ASU Now - Concrete Mobasher - Professor Barzin Mobasher and his students worked on calculations to determine the amount of fibers to add to concrete to produce a given tensile strength. He is working with Valley Metro to produce a 12-inch concrete foundation to its light rail track embedded with fibers which will be stronger than the 14-inch thick rebar-reinforced concrete it currently uses. The cost savings will be substantial. Mobasher is a professor of civil and environmental engineering faculty in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment.
