ASU’s research Professor David Williams, the Psyche mission deputy imager lead, talks about the spacecraft and the potato-shaped asteroid at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex on Merritt Island, FL, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. This metal-rich asteroid could provide clues into the formation of planets. The team has hypothesized that the asteroid is the core of a small planetesimal that formed early in the history of our solar system. Photo by Charlie Leight/ASU News
