Poitier Film School Assistant Professor Carla Bishop talks about making an immersive media project, "Mapping Blackness," with Cleveland high school students, at the week-long Inclusive and Immersive Storytelling Project: Storytelling in a New Digital Age with 23 students from ASU and Atlanta-based HBCU schools Morehouse College and Spelman College on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at The Sidney Poitier New American Film School at the ASU Media and Immersive eXperience (MIX) Center in Mesa. The class was held in Sound Stage 3, which has a 39-foot-wide, 18-foot-tall LED curved visual stage. The program is designed to create a community of next-generation creatives by developing fundamental knowledge of immersive storytelling through hands-on experiences using new and cutting-edge technology under the guidance of film faculty, technology and industry professionals.
