Released:
Image fully released. Model release on file in Media Relations & Strategic Communications.
A bone sample is coded and prepared for painting as an ASU team partners with Mayo Clinic researchers studying the forensics of bone breakage. The painting, with a white base and black speckles, will allow the 5,000 frame-per-second camera to track fragments of the bone during the test. The study involves placing a human donor femur in a Columbus McKinnon hoist and subjecting it to pressure in a drop-test. The research on these samples is done on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in ISTB 2 on the Tempe campus. Photo by Charlie Leight/ASU News
