DownloadTEMPE - August 27, 2020 - ASU Now - Project Humanities - Project Humanities, in partnership with World Without Hate, features a panel discussion on White Women Dismantle White Supremacy, Thursday, August 27, 2020. White supremacy is an ideology and worldview and is part of all of us living in this country. While all women are oppressed by the patriarchal values manifested within US society, white women are simultaneously beneficiaries of systemic racism and are therefore complicit in upholding and perpetuating racist ideologies. Panelist included Kathy Johnson, ASU alumnus and flight attendant, top left; Lisa Graham, a political and strategic planning consultant, top center; moderator Maureen Reddy, professor of English and gender studies at Rhode Island College, top right; Karen Fleshman, mentor, activist, entrepreneur, attorney, author and educator, middle left; Jessica Bhuiyan, executive director of World Without Hate, center; Lexie Gilbert, ASU doctoral student in linguistics and applied linguistics, middle right; and Kelly Bauer, documentary filmmaker, community organizer and ASU doctoral student in linguistics and applied linguistics, bottom row.
