ASU Now - PECASE winner

MESA - Jan. 10, 2017 - ASU Now - PECASE winner - Shawn Jordan, an associate professor on the Polytechnic campus, has a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) lab filled with things to create Rube Goldberg contraptions, while learning about engineering. He is one of 102 scientists and researchers receiving the Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), the highest honor bestowed by the United States Government on science and engineering professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers. Jordan is the director of the STEAM Labs and interweaves, for high school students, classic Navajo culture with modern science. Photo by Charlie Leight/ASU Now
