TEMPE - Aug. 29, 2017 - ASU Now - Amazon Dot Giveaway - Computer science freshman Yihan Liu receives a free Amazon Echo Dot at the Tooker House residential hall on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. He is an international student from China and plans to use it to help him learn English. The nearly 1600 residents, primarily from engineering and education, are offered the hands-free, voice-controlled device that uses Alexa to play music, control smart home devices, make calls, send and receive messages, provide information, read the news, set alarms, read audiobooks from Audible, control Amazon Video on Fire TV, and more, according to the Amazon.com web site.
