ASU Now - First People's COVID Drive
DownloadTEMPE - June 25, 2020 - ASU Now - First People's COVID Drive - Incoming freshman Hunter McCormick, daughter of organizer Kari McCormick, loads a box of donations for the First People's COVID- Resource Donation, near Sun Devil Stadium, Thursday, June 25, 2020. ASU volunteers emptied cars, trucks and trailers loaded with non-perishable food, paper products, water, pet food, hand sanitizer and other PPE for pandemic-stricken Native American reservations in Arizona. Donations filled two 26-foot trucks; the Penske transport headed to the Hualapai Tribe, and the Muscular Moving Men and Storage vehicle left to deliver its contents to the Navajo at Fort Defiance. ASU alumni organized the event with support from the Wenaha Group, Sam Construction, M3 Commercial Moving and Logistics, NABEDC, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Native American Fatherhood and Families Association, ASU and the ASU Construction in Indian Country program.
