Fourth-year fashion design student Andrea Mendoza, who created the falcon wing backpack, checks out a wing as the engineers run a video of the book and toy carrier in action, at the Innovation Showcase, which includes examples of robotic adaptive apparel created by engineers and fashion designers, on Friday, December 1, 2023, at the Polytechnic campus Sun Devil Fitness Center. More than 20 teams collaborated on the projects creating devices for local children undergoing cancer treatments and receiving outpatient services at the Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels nonprofit, where the devices will be used to give comfort and care in treatment settings.
