The solar-powered systems deliver quantitative data to support AMP grazing. ASU Professor of Practice Peter Byck interviews ranchers in the film series “Roots So Deep,” presented at the Marston Exploration Theater on the Tempe campus, Thursday, October 26, 2023. “Roots” is a four-part documentary series that challenges farmers and scientists with the theory he calls AMP grazing (adaptive multi-paddock grazing), an underutilized way to graze cattle that mimics how bison once roamed the land. It offers anecdotes to answer the questions: Can more cattle grazing help remove farmers’ debt, restore our depleted soils, rebuild wild flora and fauna habitats, and draw down carbon?
