President Michael Crow and Humanities Dean Jeffrey Cohen introduce Melinda Gates before she discusses her book, “The Moment of Lift: How Empowering Women Changes the World,” along with ASU Assistant Professor Aviva Dove-Viebahn, as part of the TomorrowTalks, Thursday, March 18, 2021. Gates spoke of her lessons of learning to listen to the stories of women around the world, she and others at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation were able to help them get what they need. She said there is a necessity to empower women as they are the caregivers and protectors of children, and enable children to get the education they need to rise from poverty.
