President Michael Crow talks about the University's innovation zones with members of the Arizona state legislature as they begin their tour of ASU’s MacroTechnology Works facility Friday, March 10, 2023, at ASU Research Park in Tempe. The legislators learned about the University’s role in developing a high-skilled workforce, it’s development of developing start-up entrepreneurial ventures and supplying clean-room space to collaborating businesses. They also heard the national security implications of producing microelectronics and semiconductors in the U.S. and the necessity of funding from both the New Economy Initiative and the CHIPSs and Science Act.
