Kyle Squires, dean of ASU’s Fulton Schools of Engineering speaks in a space workforce development panel at the AZ Space Summit on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the Student Pavilion on the Tempe campus. The first day of the two-day conference focused on how the state can prepare the workforce for the new space age, requiring skilled workers across industries for research, development and manufacturing. The panel included (L-R) David Cela, a director at Raytheon in Tucson; Squires; Mark Van Dyke, associate dean of research at UofA; Greg Autry, director and clinical professor of space leadership at Thunderbird School of Global Management; with moderator Janeya Griffin, co-founder and CEO of Equity Space Alliance. The event is hosted by the ASU’s Interplanetary Initiative, the School of Earth and Space Exploration, ASU NewSpace, the Thunderbird School of Global Management, the Ira A.
