First Lady and Professor Jill Biden delivered the keynote address to more than 700 graduates. She congratulated the accomplishments many of the students overcame – being told they shouldn’t go to college, working at one or more jobs, taking care of children and other family members – to earn their certificates or associate’s degrees. Biden admitted it took her 15 years to complete her collegiate education which included a bachelor’s degree, two master’s and a Doctor of Education, while raising three children and going to school at night and working full time.
