WASHINGTON, D.C. - Mar. 16, 2018 - ASU Now - Washington Center - ASU Clinical Associate Professor Mahmud Farooque speaks at the School for the Future of Innovation in Society; Consortium for Science, Policy and Outcomes; and School of Earth and Space Exploration partnership exploring "How the Public Can Inform Science and Technology Policy: The Case of Planetary Defense," in the new Barrett & O'Connor Washington Center, Friday, Mar. 16, 2018, in Washington, D.C. Following a series of introductory speakers, the participants became collaborating groups in an exercise to develop plans to increase detection capabilities of large asteroids coming in close proximity to Earth.
