DownloadTEMPE - Aug. 29, 2017 - ASU Now - Amazon Dot Giveaway - Computer systems engineering freshman Xinya Qi receives a free Amazon Echo Dot from community advisor Mio Ozawa, at the Tooker House residential hall on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. Initially, Qi plans to use it to play music. Ozawa is a sophomore in chemical engineering, and already received her Dot. The nearly 1600 residents, primarily from engineering and education, are offered the hands-free, voice-controlled device that uses Alexa to play music, control smart home devices, make calls, send and receive messages, provide information, read the news, set alarms, read audiobooks from Audible, control Amazon Video on Fire TV, and more, according to the Amazon.com web site.
