Foundation and Regents Professor and Psyche PI, Lindy Elkins-Tanton wore her lucky silver launch boots to the successful liftoff of the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket with its robotic Psyche spacecraft from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center on Friday, October 13, 2023. The ASU-led mission should collect data as its systems run through checks as it heads toward the metallic asteroid which it will orbit from August 2029 through November 2031.
