Fourth-year architecture student Zahara Al Bahadli talks about the layout of the rooms in the Summit Kindergarten at the final architectural design study presentations of reimagining an existing kindergarten building in Nablus, a West Bank city, on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at the Design North building on the Tempe campus. The Center for Building Innovation architecture students collaborated regularly with Palestinian university architecture students on the projects. Professor Marc Neveu and Associate Professor Phil Horton are the co-directors of the Center for Building Innovation and led the project. Matt Jacoby, with Orcutt Winslow Architecture & Planning and Mohammad Alrajhi, a doctoral student in Design, Environment, and the Arts, worked with the students during the semester to refine their focus and then returned to share their insights on the final projects.
