The third generation of the Alvarado-Parsons family who is being groomed to attend ASU is fourth-grader Anisa Parsons, 9, and her brother Mateo, first grade and six years old, pose for a picture Sunday, September 25, 2022, near their home in north Phoenix. Grandparents Paulette Welch and Joe Alvarado completed their Arizona State University BAs and MAs in Education, with Joe receiving his bachelor’s degree in 1976 and master’s in 1981. Paulette earned her bachelor’s in 1971 and her master’s degree in 1975. Mother Adriana Alvarado-Parsons earned her Cronkite degree 30 years later, and Uncle Emiliano Alvarado received his ASU digital marketing certificate. Will Anisa and Mateo follow suit?
